Kevin Clifton: Strictly star’s ‘dream role’ he left BBC show for postponed to 2021

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kevin Clifton, 37, has shared the news that his first project after leaving the BBC show has been rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The star had described his upcoming stint in Strictly Ballroom The Musical, directed by Craig Revel Horwood, as his “dream role”.

Kevin shared the announcement in view of his 373,000 followers today.

The new production, based on Baz Luhrmann’s film of the same name, will now open in Plymouth at the end of September 2021 with tour dates running through to July 2022.

Kevin had been cast to play Scott in the musical, which was originally played by Paul Mercurio in the movie.
