Shoppers From 40 to 60 Love This Dermatologist-Revered Drugstore Lotion

If you've been on TikTok or Instagram, hell, even Twitter, over the last few years, you're probably familiar with CeraVe. The brand's a star of the drugstore skincare world, and for good reason: It offers hard-working, high-performing skin treatments for a fraction of what other brands cost, like a humble moisturizer that produces gold-medal results.

Nope, it's not the brand's legendary Moisturizing Cream — although I will say, that's the *only* thing able to clear up my mom's persistent eczema. Today, we're discussing the brand's PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, a lighter spin that sinks in quickly and makes wrinkles "melt away," according to shoppers.

The lotion's won over 14,000 five-star ratings on Amazon, where reviewers write 300+ word raves about its moisturizing, soothing, and anti-aging capabilities. "This is the best gentle moisturizer," says a person with sensitive skin, since the formula is free of potentially irritating (and phthalate-concealing) fragrance. People in their 60s and 50s see major results; at 54, one reviewer working with wrinkles, sun damage, and acne says that it smoothed out the texture of their skin within a week, easing their natural oiliness and eliminating breakouts. Review title: "Love this with all my heart."

On the flip side, those with skin left dehydrated by retinol say it stops the issue, on top of improving their skin's elasticity and fading hyperpigmentation marks. Others echo the finding, noting a visible reduction in wrinkles, redness, dark spots, and acne scars. They credit the change to the formula's niacinamide, and according to board-certified New York dermatologist Marina Peredo, that's just the case.

"This is one of my favorite drugstore moisturizers. It's lightweight and oil-free, and I like that it's formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramides, which holds moisture and restores the skin's barrier," Peredo tells InStyle. "Specifically, ceramides can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also formulated with niacinamide, which calms the skin. This moisturizer is gentle, fragrance-free, paraben-free, non-comedogenic and allergy-tested."

Those ceramides put in the work, according to myriad reviews touting the moisturizer's line-erasing properties both on their face and neck. "Definitely good for us in our early 40s to decrease the appearance of small wrinkles around the eyes," says a fan. "I purchased this product and was so impressed that I will be adding it to my Dash buttons for easier ordering. Definitely a product I'll be ordering multiples of."

One more person says their fine lines and pores vanish as soon as they use the moisturizer, their skin left "baby soft" in its wake — and since the PM Lotion's oil-free, there's no lasting residue after it absorbs. Thanks to it, a shopper says their 61-year-old sister has no wrinkles and "skin as lovely as a 20-year-old," and despite the lingering oddity of people reviewing skincare for their siblings, that's a compliment I respect.

"I absolutely cannot go without my PM Lotion because it provides that layer of hydration and soothing I need," writes a final person. "It's also prevented most fine lines, and smoothes the ones that are there out. PM Lotion saved my skin, and continued use has made my skin so much healthier and hydrated. I love this product and will buy it for years to come."
