GMB’s Alex Beresford apologises to The Queen for not wearing a tie outside Buckingham Palace during the Platinum Jubilee celebration
Alex Beresford was coerced into giving The Queen an apology during his appearance on Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning for not wearing a tie.
The weathercaster chatted with his co-hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins as he appeared live from outside of Buckingham Palace.
But rather than today’s forecast, the hosts were more concerned with Alex’s choice of attire – and lack thereof.

Alex opted for a white shirt and tweed grey blazer – but didn’t sport a tie for the appearance.
And the choice didn’t go unmissed, with Charlotte noting: ‘One thing has been noted about your appearance today Alex.
‘It’s the lack of a tie. I mean, hello? You’re right by Buckingham Palace.’
‘I mean come on. Where’s the tie?’ jumped in Adil.

Alex apologised for the fashion choice, vowing to go off and find a tie: ‘Off with his head. I’m so sorry.’
He added: ‘If her Majesty is watching – I’m so sorry.’
While Charlotte jested that the weathercaster ‘should be’ sorry, Adil confirmed: ‘You look great mate. You always look great.’

It comes as the Platinum Jubilee celebrations kicked off on Thursday, marking the beginning of a long weekend which will see street parties taking place up and down the country as boozy Brits make the most of the bank holiday.
It will be capped by a star-studded musical extravaganza outside London’s Buckingham palace on Saturday evening.
The celebration marks Queen Elizabeth’s 70th year as monarch – with the Service of Thanksgiving set to take place in London tomorrow as part of the celebrations.
