Amy Childs shares major health update after baby scan as she prepares to welcome twins

Amy Childs has offered her social media followers a major health update after having a scan for her upcoming twins with Billy Delbosq.

The former Towie star, who joined the show in 2010 with the likes of Joey Essex, Gemma Collins and James Argent, is fast approaching her due date of April 26.

Amy, 32, has been updating fans on her pregnancy journey so far, and on Tuesday, she took to Instagram to answer some questions from her 790k followers.

After answering some burning questions, Amy and Billy went for an ultrasound scan on Wednesday and discovered that “Twin 1” was in breech.

“Hospital scan and consultant appointment,” she captioned the post, which showed her resting her hand on her stomach while sitting in a hospital chair. “Twin 1 is currently breech! Will he turn for a natural birth?”

According to the NHS, “If your baby is lying bottom or feet first, they are in the breech position. If they're still breech at around 36 weeks' gestation, the obstetrician and midwife will discuss your options for a safe delivery.”

The experts could recommend a C-section for safer delivery, but Amy and Billy will know more as time progresses.

Last week, the former Celebrity Big Brother housemate, who starred in the show in 2011 with contestants like Kerry Katona, Lucien Laviscount and Tara Reid, addressed the recent controversy fellow-mum Molly-Mae Hague experienced over exercising.

After the birth of her first child with Love Island boyfriend, Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae got back in the gym fairly soon after Bambi’s birth.

Addressing the controversy, which former Love Islander Amber Gill had also slammed, Amy explained: “Trolls giving Molly-Mae Hague grief about getting back into the gym after having Bambi need to back off – it's her body. It's entirely up to Molly what she wants to do – whatever makes her happy.

“You do have to get checked at the hospital and they'll see if you're okay to train. They check your belly and they check your muscles in your stomach. If Molly's had the all clear from her doctors, and she's happy and wants to do it, then that's great.”

Amy continued to explain that she too will be getting back in the gym a few months after the twins are born as, “at the end of the day, I could be having a C section and they they don't advise exercise after for 12 weeks.

“At the minute the gym is probably not top of my list but it's up to her – whatever she wants to do. For me, with Polly I 'bounced back' really quickly. I bounced back after about six weeks. Of course, you have a little bit of a belly but you can train for a couple of weeks and get rid of it,” she added.

“You do feel big towards the end of pregnancy and you do put on loads of weight so a little bit of exercise is good for your body but good for your mental health too.”
