Amy Duggar Warns Fans After Scam Artist Targets Her Store

Amy Duggar is having quite a week. The Duggar family cousin “has been putting out all kinds of fires,” she told her Instagram followers on Oct. 22, going on to explain that a scam artist had targeted her clothing store. She warned fans who might shop at her boutique to be on the lookout for a fake website that seemed designed to trick potential customers.

‘We were not hacked,’ Amy Duggar tells her followers

As Amy — who is known for her appearances on 19 Kids and Counting and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars — told her followers, someone created a fake website masquerading as her business, 3130 Clothing.

“My blood pressure is pretty much boiling,” she wrote, explaining that even her 1-year-old son Daxton could tell she was upset.

“We were not hacked,” she added. “This is someone who has created a fake website stating ‘they are a second location.’”

Amy went on to explain that she was “taking legal action” against the scammers. She said she wanted to “shut down” the con artists and stop them from “scamming others and taking advantage of good people.”

“We want to ensure to all our customers that our site is secure & has NOT been hacked,” reads a message on the store’s website. “The safety of our customer information is our greatest importance.”

Amy’s cousin Jill Duggar offers support

Amy was clearly stressed by the situation with her store. But she got some words of support from her cousin Jill Duggar.

“You poor thing! So sorry you’re dealing with that!” the former Counting On star commented on Amy’s Instagram post.

Many of Amy’s followers also offered their sympathies, with commenters calling the scammers actions “sick” and “awful.”

“Aww, how terrible. If life wasn’t hard enough right now then this happens. I hope you get it worked out,” one wrote. “It’s not your fault so don’t feel guilty.”

Jill and Amy Duggar have a close relationship

It’s not a big surprise that Jill was quick to reach out with some words of comfort for her cousin. While Jill’s relationship with her parents and some of her siblings has become strained over the years, she is still close to Amy.

In interviews and on social media, Amy has made it clear she doesn’t agree with all of her relative’s conservative beliefs.

“I think we are all just trying to find our path and we’re all just doing things differently,” she said of her famous family when talking to Entertainment Tonight in July 2020. “I’m doing things differently and I’m happy where I’m at. I’m happy for them. Things are definitely different, but I’m happy for everybody.”

Amy also revealed that she and Jill are close. They text on a regular basis and, as seen on social media, get together for shopping trips and double dates with spouses.

“Jill and I text, not on a daily basis, but we text quite often,” Amy told ET. “And we discuss things.”
