Gemma Atkinson explains ‘weird’ house query after beau Gorka complaints: ‘Excuse me!’

Hits Radio host Gemma Atkinson, 35 gave her Instagram followers a tour of her home gym while housebound due to the coronavirus lockdown. However, the presenter revealed which homely addition the Strictly Come Dancing pro and partner, Gorka Marquez, 29, didn’t want to see on display.

Soon after Gemma finished her daily home work-out, the star took the opportunity to show her Instagram followers where she exercises at home while addressing one query about her home that she often receives from her fans.

Speaking to her 1.4 million followers, Gemma began to explain: “Loads of you ask about why I’ve got some pictures in the gym.

“And I got these pictures without saying anything to Gorka.”

She then explained how she didn’t hold back when Gorka wasn’t too keen on her collection.

The presenter continued: “He was a bit like, ‘I don’t want pictures in the gym’. And I was like, ‘Excuse me?'”

While Gemma went on to reveal why she wants pictures on display in her home gym, the host showed an image of the legendary fictional boxer Rocky Balboa hanging up on her wall.

The Emmerdale star confessed: “Rocky, is one of my favourite films, Rocky IV, and this is a famous quote.

“The world ain’t all rainbows and sunshine quote. Obviously that’s got to go in there.”

She then moved on to show one of the items she wears, which had her baby daughter Mia’s name printed onto it.

Gemma added: “The best never quit. I put Mia’s name on mine just to keep me going because obviously she’s watching me.”

Soon after, the soap actress showed her followers a picture of “two incredible athletes” which was also hung up.

Gemma went on to explain: “These two, Ronda Rousey and Holly Holmes. Two incredible female athletes, obviously Ronda paved the way for female UFC.

“I think she’s great. And Holly, that fight, Holly destroyed her,” she continued.

Gemma then spoke out about how she loves to see “strong” females “doing things”.

The TV star concluded her video tour by saying: “Just kind of love that females are strong and doing things, especially UFC because it wasn’t expected was it. But we’re doing it anyway.”

It comes after Gorka recently showed his fans a sneak peek of his and Mia’s “Sunday chats” on his Instagram page.

Writing to his 513,000 followers, the BBC favourite said: “Sunday chats…

Soon after Gorka shared the video of himself trying to persuade his daughter to say how she “loves daddy”, the Strictly star was flooded with comments from his fans.

One wrote to the dancer: “Dad goals,” while another added: “Oh this is so adorable.”
