Halle Bailey Offfers Behind-the-Scenes Look at The Color Purple as She Wraps Filming

On Wednesday, June 29, the 22-year-old shared on Instagram a series of pictures and videos while working on the project, which included a photo of her being hugged and receiving flowers from Oprah Winfrey.

AceShowbizHalle Bailey has finished filming “The Color Purple“. Revealing the news to her online followers, the one-half of Chloe x Halle offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Blitz Bazawule-directed film adaptation of the Broadway musical.

On Wednesday, June 29, the 22-year-old shared on Instagram a series of pictures and videos while working on the project. The carousel included a photo of her being hugged and receiving flowers from Oprah Winfrey, who served as the film producer.

In another snap, Halle was seen petting a horse, while the other one displayed her getting her hair done. Her co-stars Colman Domingo and Phylicia Mpasi were also featured in one image.

In the caption of the post, Halle gushed, “and that’s a wrap for me on the color purple.” She added, “i’m so very grateful to have had this experience, my second major motion picture complete in the last year and a half. God is so good. here’s a few of my fav moments without showing too much.”

The post has since been flooded with positive feedback from many. Colman himself replied, “Such a pleasure. Happy wrap my friend. You were so incredible to work with. I adore you.” Her older sister Chloe Bailey, meanwhile, praised her, “I am so proud of you halle!!!!”

When speaking about her time filming “The Color Purple”, Halle told Entertainment Tonight at the 2022 BET Awards, “We’re supposed to be wrapped next week, so crossing my fingers that we get it done, and I’ve been having a great time.”

“I pinch myself every day on that set… to be a part of such a historic film that we’ve all known growing up,” she marveled. “It’s like, ‘Wow, what can we do to make this even greater than it already is?’ … Because it’s such an amazing base, and I’m just grateful to be part of the whole project.”
