Harvey Weinstein spotted eating ice cream alone

Harvey Weinstein has been spotted eating ice cream alone ahead of his trial for accusations of rape and sexual misconduct next month.

The disgraced movie mogul was seen at the Molly Pitcher Inn in New Jersey eating two sundaes while doing paperwork, with eyewitnesses telling TMZ that he’d used a walker upon leaving the establishment.

Weinstein’s court case is due to start on 6 January in New York City, and could take up to two months to complete.

He is facing five charges of rape and sexual assault in 2006 and 2013 from two alleged victims.

It will reportedly be televised in America on Court TV.

The court appearance comes over two years after the New York Times published information of sexual assault allegations against Weinstein from actresses like Rose McGowan and Ashley Judd.

Many other industry players have since come forward with similar accusations, sparking the global #MeToo movement.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct directed at him.

The Weinstein Company, which Weinstein presided over, is responsible for producing critical and commercial hits like The Reader, The Iron Lady and Silver Linings Playbook, all of which won Oscars.

Earlier this month, in his first interview in over a year, Weinstein told the New York Post that he felt like ‘the forgotten man.’

‘I made more movies directed by women and about women than any filmmaker, and I’m talking about 30 years ago,’ he said.

‘I’m not talking about now when it’s in vogue. I did it first. I pioneered it.’

He added: ‘My work has been forgotten. I want this city to recognise who I was instead of what I’ve become.’

In early December, it emerged Weinstein has reached a $25 million (£19 million) settlement with several of his accusers.
