Holly Willoughby was left in tears after being startled by a fake dinosaur in a hilarious backstage clip from Dancing On Ice rehearsals.

The 40 year old, who recently stunned in a £19.99 Zara floral top on This Morning, was in the middle of practising her lines for the live show when the dinosaur began creeping up behind her.

"Welcome back to Dancing On Ice where our skating stars have been giving it their all on Movie Week, but who'll have happy feet and who'll be gone with the wind?" she said as the fake creature entered the screen.

Unaware, she continued: "One couple will be leaving us tonight."

As filming crew began giggling in front of her, Holly clocked on to what was going on and shrieked before clasping her hands and making herself shrink as she looked back at the dinosaur.

While co-host Phillip Schofield, 58, continued the segment, saying: "Our final couple found themselves…" Holly could be heard shrieking again as she asked: "Oh where is it?" before covering her mouth with her hands while Phillip laughed at her.

Holly then turned back to the camera as she said: "Oh my god!" before the dinosaur snapped it's jaw, making a loud noise and startling the blonde TV presenter further. She repeated: "Ahhh my god!" and moved away.

"Oh my god, it's so like… Go over there, like staayyyy!" she said as the dinosaur let out a cry in her direction.

As Phillip, who recently showed off his body transformation in lockdown with "tiny guns", continued to laugh, the dinosaur then came over to him for a little hug as he said: "Look, see? You see?" to which Holly responded: "It just doesn't like me!"

Protesting, Phillip said: "It does, it's just… don't show you're scared! Never show fear. Look it in the eye, look it in the eye."

Laughing and crying as the dinosaur continued to cry towards Holly, she said: "Make it stop, make it stop!" as Phillip added: "How are you going to do this on the telly?!"

It comes as Phillip recently spoke exclusively to OK! magazine to share his best wishes to Holly as she turned 40.

“There have been so many times over the years that I have rejoiced in the fact that Holly is my friend, I’ve said often that she is the sister I never had,” he said.

“We’ve stood side by side (recently with a 2m gap) through good times and tough times.”

Phillip went on to add more about their friendship, after they were first paired together as a presenting duo back in 2006 to host Dancing on Ice.

“She is a constant support to me, built of steel and love. We’ve laughed together and cried together and got helplessly drunk together," he continued.

“I’m a lucky man to have such a fiercely loyal and wonderful friend in my life. Happy birthday Holly x.”
