James Martin is much-loved for fronting his ITV series Saturday Morning each weekend from his house. However, when the TV chef was a guest on Christopher Biggins’ podcast, he admitted this comes with some downsides.

As many viewers will be aware, filming for Saturday Morning takes place at James’ home.

Each week this means he invites chefs and celebrity guests in for the cooking show.

However, the star recently told Biggins how this sometimes means he has to kick them out when they overstay their welcome.

He explained: “Whereas at the Beeb it was quite easy to get rid of people, now it’s quite difficult.

“I’m sat in what’s classed as the green room and that’s where people have lock-ins really.

“We ended up kicking Boyzone out at 2am so we’ve kicked many people out AM.

“They’ve been here drinking but it’s good fun.”

However, the TV chef did admit he misses having chefs from around the country staying at his home when filming the show.

James was a guest on Biggins’ new podcast called Show and Tell when opened up about the filming process.

The series invites people to speak about some important items to them and explain their significance.

Other guests so far have included Gloria Hunniford, Helen Worth and William Hanson.

Biggins and James have become good friends over the years often appearing on the same shows.

The TV chef also took to social media to share his excitement about being on the podcast.

He penned on his Twitter: “Great to chat to @onebiggins for @BigginsPodcast.

“Give it a listen if you can, available wherever you listen to your podcasts!”

Elsewhere, James has been taking a break from filming his Saturday series.

The show is currently on hiatus for the summer as repeats air on ITV.

The chef recently took to social media to apologise for this and share an update about filming.

This came as he replied to a fan keen to know when new episodes will be out.

He penned: “Sorry but we always have a summer break as sport is on normally and the Olympics …

“Back in the studio next month ..”
