GIVE MEGHAN A BREAK

This week, Netflix announced it was cancelling the development of new animated series Pearl, created by Meghan Markle.

I’m saddened for her, not only because this project meant a lot to her, but because her critics are once again finding any excuse they can to give her grief. The hatred seems to have reignited yet again.

The biggest shame, however, is that the plot of the show centres on the lives of inspirational women from minority communities.

I just hope another streaming service picks up the rights, as this type of representation is particularly important and could make a huge difference to the lives of youngsters.

I FELT LIKE A MOVIE STAR

This week, I’ve been lucky enough to vacay in the south of France, surrounded by wine, good food and a splash of sunshine.

I’m taking self-care to a whole new level. I’d wanted to visit this part of the world for such a long time, and it absolutely lived up to all my expectations.

I managed to get a sneak peek at the red carpet set-up for the Cannes Film Festival later this month, and I felt just like a movie star. The champagne and grilled octopus served harbourside at the Michelin-starred restaurant BFire by Mauro Colagreco certainly helped!

MY MET GALA HIGHLIGHTS

Now, I might not be the Kardashians’ biggest fan, but I have to admit that Kim K blew me away when she rocked up to the Met Gala wearing Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday, Mr President” dress.

That girl really knows how to steal the spotlight!

Doing it for the British boys this year was King Stormzy with his show-stopping white Burberry suit and cape. I hugely admire how he is moving at the moment, with regards to keeping himself off social media and just doing his own thing.

Then, on to my favourite curvy queen, Lizzo, who always goes that extra mile to stand out. And this year, she did so while playing the flute. Iconic. Oh, and shout out to her brand new show Watch Out For The Big Grrrls – I can’t get enough!
