Kelly Clarkson Sampled a Sandwich Named After Queen Latifah — Here's How it Tasted
Kelly Clarkson gave Queen Latifah a lot to chew on — literally — when she interviewed her on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The talk show maven dropped a surprise on her guest when she revealed a sandwich that was named to honor her.
Kelly Clarkson touted Queen Latifah’s Hollywood cred
Clarkson welcomed Queen Latifah to her show and reminded viewers of the superstar’s multifaceted career for which she has earned a collection of awards, including Grammys, Emmys, and Golden Globes.
“We need to get you an EGOT at this point. You’re missing one,” said Clarkson about Queen Latifah’s assortment of accolades. For the record, Queen Latifah was a fierce contender to achieve the “O” in the EGOT when she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role as Mama in Chicago.

The race for an EGOT aside, Clarkson revealed a different tribute Queen Latifah has received. “Did you know that someone honored you with a sandwich? Did you know that there’s a sandwich named after you, and it’s awesome?”
Queen Latifah reacted with genuine surprise, exclaiming, “What?”
“Yes, and I’m so jealous. I want a sandwich,” joked Clarkson. “So, Sammich Restaurant in Ashland, Oregon, is serving the Queen LaBEEFa.”
The entertainers shared a genuine laugh over the witty food pun. “The Queen LaBEEFa, come on,” repeated Clarkson after recovering from her fit of giggles.

From her sun-filled room, Queen Latifah reached for an item off-camera. “My assistant, Jonathan, is handing me…”
“A Queen LaBEEFa, yes,” Clarkson interjected before receiving her own sandwich from a crew member. The talk show host then gave the audience a rundown of the ingredients. “It comes with steak, jalapeno cream cheese spread, and red onion on sourdough rye. So, I’m just saying, we should taste it. It’s a Queen LaBEEFa,” she said again with a chuckle. “Cause it’s just never… that’s never going to not be funny.”
At that point, Queen Latifah gave viewers a close-up view of her sandwich, bursting with deliciousness. “This is the largest sandwich in the entire world,” said Clarkson before taking a bite. Her verdict? “Oh, d*mn. That’s good.”
“Your Queen LaBEEFa sandwich is so good,” Clarkson reiterated to the star after which it is named.
The Queen joked, “Look, I’m about to spray my Queen LaBEEFa sandwich.”
“COVID-friendly,” quipped Clarkson. “It is so good. You’ve got to try it. It’s so good. Thank you so much, Sammich Restaurant in Ashland, Oregon. That was amazing.”
Finally, Queen Latifah took a bite of the sandwich cleverly named after her, and she appeared to enjoy the flavor. “It’s all about this,” said Latifah as she showed the audience a spicy pepper plucked from between the slices of bread. “It has that little kick.”
