Kerry Katona says she’ll ‘keep going under the knife’ due to ‘body dysmorphia’

Kerry Katona has opened up about dealing with body dysmorphia and says she'll continue to go under the knife in order to deal with it. The star explained her thoughts on surgery for her weekly OK! column as she revealed she is looking for models of "all shapes and sizes" for her clothing boutique and was blown away by the response after she put out an advert.

Kerry said she was determined to use a diverse range of people to model her clothes as she wanted women to "speak about their confidence and self worth." Kerry added: "I’ve been under the knife so many times and I’m continuing to because I’ve definitely got body dysmorphia from the industry I’ve been in. As much as I say people should love the body they’re in, it’s hard."

Keeping busy

I’ve been really busy this week with my businesses – and my YouTube channel is back up and running. I took a break from YouTube because, obviously, we’ve been going through a pandemic and then our Angela died, but we’re back in action now. I did a video of me reacting to all the headlines that have been going on for the past few months, which was good fun. And I’ve got loads more planned!

Model behaviour

I put an ad online to find models for my boutique. I was blown away by the response – I had over a thousand emails! I was nervous that nobody would respond.

I’m looking for all shapes and sizes, and I want women to speak about their confidence and self-worth. I’ve been under the knife so many times and I’m continuing to because I’ve definitely got body dysmorphia from the industry I’ve been in. As much as I say people should love the body they’re in, it’s hard. I can’t wait to meet all these women and hear their stories.

Speaking out about addiction

I was on the BBC’s Morning Live last week to raise awareness about addiction after losing my auntie Angela. I wanted to speak on behalf of families, rather than the addicts themselves. I felt like there was so much more I wanted to say but it’s tough on live TV! I said what I said and hopefully I’ve encouraged others to speak out.

Congrats Danielle!

Congratulations to Danielle Lloyd, who is pregnant with her fifth child. She’s going to enjoy being a mum-of-five. I personally love having a big family. It’s great when we’re all together and just creating memories. Even if it’s just chilling together in the living room – it’s the family environment that I never had as a kid. I’m so happy for Danielle – she’s a great mum.

Life Stories

I said during an Instagram Live last week that I was turned down to appear on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. Can you believe that?! I got turned down after the bloody life I’ve had! I was shocked.

I’ve always got on very well with Piers – I think he’s lovely. Whenever I did Good Morning Britain with him, we always had a laugh. I think I have a story to tell to inspire people – and for me, that’s what Life Stories is about.
