Lisa Faulkner opens up on devastating infertility which led to her adopting her daughter Billie

Actress Lisa Faulkner has opened up on her infertility and how it led to her adopting her daughter, Billie, now 13.

Former EastEnders star Lisa, 46, adopted her daughter with her ex-husband Chris Coghill after she was unable to fall pregnant.

She told The Times magazine in a new interview: "I am really happy that I am infertile because I wouldn't have got Billie without it.

“I think I love her more because she is not my birth child. It is ferocious and it comes from here [my heart].”

Lisa continued to explain that despite accepting her infertility, she still yearns to be pregnant.

She said: "But I don't think that yearning to be pregnant will ever completely go until I hit the menopause and I can't physically have children any more."
