Love Islands Greg O’Shea ‘exhausted’ after break-up: Im trying to pick myself back up’

Irish Love Island stud Greg O'Shea may be recently single and back on the market, but he tells new! he won't be dating anyone again anytime soon as he's still "heartbroken" from his recent break-up.

Greg, 26, and his ex, influencer Kate Hutchins, parted ways after two years together in 2021 but he's still feeling the strain of the split.

Speaking about why he can't face the idea of meeting a new woman, he shared: "I’m exhausted from my last relationship.

"She was amazing but we just put in so much work to try and make it happen, and we ended up realising we want different things. I was heartbroken."

Greg added: "At the moment, I’m just trying to lick my wounds and pick myself back up. We’ll see later in the year, maybe, but right now I’m just exhausted by the whole love thing."

The former professional rugby player then broke his silence on whether he is still in touch with ex Amber Gill, with whom he won Love Island.

"No, we don’t speak at all anymore," he said.

"We just kind of respect each other from afar."

We follow each other on social media and we’ve spoken privately once since Caroline Flack passed away, but other than that we just had a ridiculous life experience together."

Reflecting on his Love Island experience, Greg told us it was "mad" and he would "love to do it again" if he ever had the chance.

He shared "It was all positive the whole way through in the show, and then just afterwards there was a bit of negativity because I decided to come home to Ireland and go for the goal that I had before [the show], which was going to the Olympics.

"But looking back now, I absolutely did love it. I’d do it again."

After retiring from rugby sevens from the Olympics, Greg has now launched his own fitness app called Bettr with Greg.

He explained: "I thought, 'What am I passionate about?' I’ve always loved fitness and I was a rugby player for 10 years. And like every other influencer and YouTuber, I did Instagram Lives during lockdown, building a little community.

"I thought, 'There’s something here.' And the idea of a fitness app came along."
