Max Ehrich Reportedly "Got Wrapped Up" in Hollywood Before Demi Lovato Split

Yesterday, news broke that Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich had ended their engagement after just two months. And naturally fans are curious about why—especially given rumors of tension, not to mention claims that Demi’s friends were suspicious of Max’s intentions, and all those alleged Selena Gomez tweets from Max (which Demi said were fake).

However, it looks like Demi and Max’s split was mostly to do with their busy schedules and Max’s sudden rise to fame. “Demi and Max were basically together 24/7 for months,” a source tells People. “They lived in a bubble with zero stress, and everything was just fun. Now they are both working and are on separate coasts. They were having conflicts.”

Another source says that distance “put a strain” on their relationship and that “Max shot up in fame, and it’s been hard. He got wrapped up in [Hollywood].”

When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his “little partner” – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner. @maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!! ??❤️?? Ps. THANK YOU @angelokritikos FOR HIDING BEHIND ROCKS AND CAPTURING THE ENTIRE THING!!! I love you boo!!!

Meanwhile, an Us Weekly source says that “In the beginning, Max was super careful about self-promotion [and] things with his career, but once they got engaged, he really hit the gas pedal and wanted to make the most out of his career opportunities. He felt more comfortable doing so after they were fiancés and had a little bit more of a leg up.”

Yikes. This is really a bummer to hear—but keep in mind that neither Demi nor Max have spoken out about their split, and sources previously told People “They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.”
