Amanda Owen and her family have become fan favourites with their farming series Our Yorkshire Farm. The shepherdess has since reacted to a viewer who took aim at the Channel 5 star following her latest post, as she credited Jeremy Clarkson.

The 46-year-old took to Twitter and revealed she had been quiet on the platform after being busy with numerous tasks this week.

In view of her 171,000 followers, Amanda shared a series of photos giving fans an insight into her busy schedule.

One showed her sheering sheep and another highlighted her looking glamourous for an event.

Amanda tweeted: “Time for a catch up, it has been a super busy time. Been wearing more than a few different hats metaphorically speaking.”

She added the hashtags: “#shepherdess #yorkshire #alltrades #multitask #justdoit.”

A social media user reacted to the post as they urged Amanda to “stay true”.

The person in question wrote: “Stay true to yourself people fell in love with your life as you all are, not as a showbiz star.”

Amanda fired back explaining that she needed to pay the bills following their comment.

She replied: “Shearing Sheep driving tractor to make hay to feed Sheep, signing books (about Sheep), public speaking (about Sheep). Serving tea to folk who watch programme & read (about Sheep).

“As @JeremyClarkson has highlighted until food production, countryside management is valued we do what pays the bills.”

The person in question swiftly apologised, adding: “Sorry, I didn’t think.”

Amanda’s comments come after Jeremy, who fronts his show Clarkson’s Farm, addressed the financial difficulties of running a farm.

The Grand Tour star insisted the public should have “more respect” for farmers such as Amanda.

Opening up on his thoughts towards Amanda and her husband Clive Owen, 66, who run and live on Ravenseat farm with their nine children, Jeremy said: “We should have more respect for them than we do.

“It’s really hard work sheep farming and there up in Keld, Ravenseat, in the Yorkshire Dales and it’s really hard work.”

Jeremy admitted he thought it would be easy to learn to farm until he tried to do it himself.

The presenter discussed the many trials and tribulations of working daily on a farm, as well as the financial strain on his show Clarkson’s Farm.

He said: “Just seeing if I can make this farm work because last year whenever there was a financial disaster, I’d go and host Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

“But not every farmer can do that. I still can’t understand why my lambs cost more than lambs from New Zealand.

“I don’t understand that. I want to get to the bottom of that and I don’t understand how can supermarkets, if we grow it, mill it and sell it, how can supermarkets be cheaper than that?”

Amanda has been the subject of criticism in recent weeks for advertising products on her social media accounts.
