Piers Morgan, 55, was more than happy to learn that Sir Michael Parkinson, 86, “misses” the former Good Morning Britain host on TV after he left the ITV show back in March. It comes after the iconic chat-show host admitted he doubts he’d be able to conduct his hard-hitting, tell-all interviews in “our ultra-sensitive world”.

Speaking to Radio Times, Parky revealed Piers was a breath of fresh air on the telly; someone who wasn’t afraid to speak their mind.
He said: “I enjoy a lot of the stuff that he does because I do think we need a voice like that.
“I miss him on television.”
After reading the touching comment, Piers took to Twitter to gush over the support from the legendary presenter.
“Thanks for the support, Parky!” he penned excitedly, while linking to the article for fans to have a read themselves.
It comes after the host of the hugely popular Parkinson Show revealed what he believes to be the secret of a long TV career, admitting he has “no regrets” about no longer being on television himself.
“I think people have to like you,” he said.
“It’s as simple as that.
“It’s about what they make of you, warts and all.
“That’s crucial – and if you knew the answer to it, you’d be a rich man indeed.”
He added: “In this ultra-sensitive world I doubt I could actually do an interview nowadays without being sent off.
“There are so many pitfalls and booby traps in life now. I think I had the best of it,” he shrugged.
Elsewhere, Piers penned a heartfelt tribute to Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away at the age of 80.
A statement read: “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts.”
Tributes rolled in from around the world, with Piers taking to his social media to honour the musician’s memory.
“BREAKING NEWS: Rolling Stones superstar Charlie Watts, one of the greatest drummers in rock history, has died aged 80,” he wrote.
“A brilliant musician and a wonderful character, he was the cool, calm, ever-pounding heartbeat of the Stones.
“Very sad news.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to share their condolences, with one saying: “Such sad news another part of my youth gone. Condolences to his family.
Another added: “What a rock band he will have in heaven! RIP Oh Great One!”
