Pregnant Laura Anderson slams online abuse as she addresses realities of last months

Former Love Island star and mum-to-be Laura Anderson has taken to Instagram to hit out at online trolls who have been sending her abuse in the wake of her pregnancy announcement, and subsequent split from ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy.

Sharing a statement to her Instagram Story, Laura, 33, wrote: "If anyone writes anything negative on my page re my pregnancy you will be blocked.

"Nobody on here except my family and friends knows the reality regarding the past few months of my life because I don't comment on press articles or give details of any other party.

"I will never play the victim even in my vulnerable state. I'm simply moving on with my life with my head held high."

She continued: "I do not appreciate abuse at a time I am trying my best to protect myself and my unborn child. Please think before typing."

Laura announced her pregnancy just days ago, as she took to Instagram and posted a reel containing clips of her undergoing ultrasound scans and showing off her growing baby bump

"Our hearts are full Baby Lucy due 'Summer 23," the mum-to-be captioned her Instagram post and tagged ex-EastEnders star Gary, 41, who she met while filming Celebs Go Dating in 2022.

Following the announcement, The Sun reported that that the pair had split following their first baby scan.

A source told the publication: "Gary's been left devastated – he's absolutely heartbroken. They spent Christmas together and he travelled to Glasgow last weekend in a desperate attempt to try to win her back.

"They enjoyed a meal out and attended their first scan together – but Laura was adamant it's over."

Gary then confirmed the split, telling the outlet: "I love Laura but we are no longer together.

"My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby."

Rumours of a split were rife in January, as Laura shared a couple of cryptic posts to her Instagram Stories.

In one, Laura posted a selfie with her dog, to which she added the text: "I know i've been quiet on here and not myself this week or so. I'm going through a very difficult time, I actually don't think I've ever felt so stressed in my life.

"As we know Instagram isn't real life but over sharing negativity has never been something I like doing. Anyway my thought of the day for us all is – Never lose yourself or your voice," which she followed with a heart emoji.
