Ryan Adams Pens Lengthy Apology For How He ‘Mistreated People’

Ryan Adams has apologized for his past behavior more than a year after he was accused of sexual harassment and emotional abuse by several women.

“There are no words to express how bad I feel about the ways I’ve mistreated people through my life and career,” the singer-songwriter and poet said in a letter published by the Daily Mail. “All I can say is that I’m sorry.”

Acknowledging that no amount of growth will ever take away the suffering he had caused, Adams said, “I will never be off the hook and I am fully accountable for my harmful behavior, and will be for my actions moving forward.”

He made it clear that sobriety and mental health are priorities in his life.

In February 2019, the New York Times published a report quoting seven women that claimed they were misused by Adams offering to help them with their careers

The musician was also accused of being emotionally and verbally abusive at times.
