Steph McGovern, 39, took her daughter to nursery this morning, and filmed their journey to the delight of her Instagram followers. The Packed Lunch host said on her Story: “I’m just taking my daughter to nursery, I have to duck one of those fence things on the way.

“Anyway I hope you have all had a lovely weekend,” she added.

Steph had turned automated captions on for the story which are provided by the social media network to assist those who are hard of hearing.

However, the captions are not always 100 per cent accurate and in this case, it mistook the TV host saying “daughter” for “dog”.

Steph was able to laugh it off as she shared a screenshot of the caption and wrote: “Love the caption function on here.”

The TV personality has previously revealed she was not with her partner for long before they decided to start a family.

The Steph’s Packed Lunch host had been planning to have a child solo, before starting a romantic relationship with a long-term friend whose name she prefers to keep out of the spotlight.

Steph was in her mid-30s when she decided to take fertility matters into her own hands and debated whether to freeze her eggs.

Seeking an expert opinion, the TV host visited a clinic to check on her ability to have children, fearing menopause.

Offering advice to women who are considering having a baby, Steph shared: “I say to everyone who’s thinking vaguely about having a baby, I say, ‘Just go and see what the level of play is with your eggs is, if you can’.

“If you’re on your own just go and see,” she added on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby.

However, thankfully her fertility was not a worry for too long, as she quickly conceived.

She continued: “Then me and my partner got together, and we had been friends for a long, long time before we got together.

“So she knew all about this, that I was thinking about what to do, and then we got together and she was like, ‘Shall we just go for it?’

“We hadn’t even been together that long. I was like, ‘Do you reckon?’ And she was like, ‘What’s stopping us?’ We decided we would have a baby.”

Steph gave birth to a baby daughter at the end of 2019 when she was still working at BBC Breakfast.

Giovanna asked if it was “hard” deciding who out of Steph and her partner would carry the child.

Steph responded: “No, no, it was always going to be me. In fact, it’s funny because that was the bit I didn’t want to do. I thought, ‘Ah I’m actually not fussed about being pregnant’.”

The mum-of-one is very private about her personal life, keeping pictures of both her partner and their daughter, two, out of the media.

Recently, the former BBC Breakfast reporter shared an insight into her date nights with her “missus”, while looking glamorous.

One saw Steph rock burgundy leather trousers, while another saw her look city chic with a faux leather shirt. “Toilet and lift selfies… not classy.

“But I am just buzzing to have had a couple of nights out with my missus and friends!” she joked.
