'The Bachelorette': Becca Kufrin Is Keeping the Details of Her Breakup a Secret, Even From Rachel Lindsay

After much speculation, former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin has finally admitted that she and her fiance Garrett Yrigoyen have split. Though their relationship was made public through The Bachelorette, Kufrin is keeping the details of her split private, even from her Bachelor Happy Hour podcast co-host Rachel Lindsay.

What happened between Becca and Garrett?

Fans have been wary of Yrigoyen since he appeared on the show. While The Bachelorette was airing, it came out that he had liked a number of homophobic posts, along with posts making fun of the victims of the Parkland shooting.

After protests against the murder of George Floyd started popping up around the world, Yrigoyen posted a picture to Instagram in support of the police.

“With so many friends and family in law enforcement I couldn’t sit back and not support them and the hundreds of thousands of men and women of all races that represent this Thin Blue Line as well,” he wrote. He went on to discuss how many police officers had been hurt during the protests.

Several Bachelor Nation members called Yrigoyen out for his opinion, stating that being a police officer was a job while being Black is not something a person can clock out of.

Kufrin later addressed the strain on their relationship on her and Lindsay’s podcast.

“For those who are curious about my relationship with Garrett at this point, all I can say right now is that I don’t know,” she said. “I can’t give anything more than that. It’s something that we are trying to work through and discuss and do work on at home at this time and that’s where the work will remain and that’s really the best I can give you at this point.”

The breakup

After rumors had been circulating that Kufrin and Yrigoyen had called it quits, Kufrin finally addressed the situation via Instagram.

“With a heavy heart, Garrett and I have come to the loving conclusion to end our engagement,” she wrote. “All that we will share is that we still have nothing but love and respect for one another even though we’ve decided to go down our own separate paths. While we’ve arrived at this point, it doesn’t diminish the countless, amazing memories made together. We hope that everyone can allow us grace, respect, and the time to heal our hearts as we navigate this next chapter in our lives.”

Becca won’t talk about the breakup with Rachel

Before Kufrin went public with news of the split, she hadn’t talked to Lindsay about the status of her relationship.

“What I do appreciate about Becca is that a lot of times you feel the pressure to respond to rumors or allegations and whatever is going on,” Lindsay told HollywoodLife. “She’s been extremely private, even with me, about the details of whatever is going on.”

Though Lindsay had been very vocal about her dislike of Yrigoyen, the fact that she and Kufrin share a podcast makes it very strange that Kufrin didn’t mention anything. When Kufrin announced the breakup on the podcast, she did so without Lindsay.

“For me, I want to honor her, and if she doesn’t want to talk about it right now, I won’t go into detail about it either,” Lindsay said.
