Piers Morgan, 56, recently interviewed Dame Joan Collins, 88, for a new episode of his ITV series Life Stories. However, the Hollywood legend fired a brutal comment at him during the exchange, branding him “grosser”.

Piers has recalled the moment ahead of the episode airing on ITV soon.

The pair were meeting for a reunion dinner in London ahead of their chat.

The outspoken broadcaster revealed how at one point he asked Joan how many films she had made.

He recalled: “Joan’s doing Life Stories for the second time to celebrate her 70th year in the movie industry.

“‘How many feature films have you made?’ I asked. ‘74.’”

“‘I’ve only been in eight,’ I replied, ‘but they’ve grossed over $2 billion at the box office.’

“‘I don’t believe it!’ exclaimed an incredulous Joan.”

Piers then proceeded to list off some of the titles he’d had roles in, including The Campaign, Flight and World War Z.

However, in his column for the Mail on Sunday, Piers admitted Joan couldn’t help but have a jibe at him over this.

The presenter continued: “The table fell into stunned silence as the full glory of my Hollywood body of work hit home.

“‘What’s YOUR cumulative gross, Joan?’ I chuckled.

“‘Not as much as that!’ she retorted, ‘but you’ve always been a lot grosser than me.’”

Piers confirmed he would be featuring Joan on his ITV show earlier this week.

On May 20, he shared a picture of the star ahead of a day of filming.

Alongside this, he penned to his 7.9million followers: “Back in the filming saddle today..

“And couldn’t be more excited about this #LifeStories guest.

“What a life, what a story, what a Dame!! @Joancollinsdbe.”

The actor and author is not the only person of note Piers has been interviewing this week either.

He will be featuring Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer on his show as well.

Piers posted some pictures in the studio with the politician as he teased the chat.

He penned: “This was a sensational interview.

“Nearly three hours with the man who wants to run the country and he left nothing in the locker….”
