Cleaning fanatic paints her floor twice a DAY to make sure it’s always gleaming white

A MUM has revealed she paints her floors twice a day to keep them gleaming – admitting she hates carpet.

Charlie, from east Sussex, claimed cleaning carpet was too time consuming, so she ripped it out of her two-bed flat.

The mum, who works as a garden designer, appeared on Channel 4’s Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, showing off her minimalist home.

Charlie, who lives with her daughter, said: “I have a problem with carpets, they always look dirty.

“So I prefer to paint the floor, once or twice a day. It’s so much easier than having the carpet cleaned.”

She defended her excessive cleaning, saying: "When I decided when I had a child I would do things differently.

"Just because I'm tidy, that child can trash the front room as much as she wants. That's why I painted the floor."

After she finishes work Charlie says she spends two hours cleaning, and has a particular way she arranges her home.

She said: “I really like to get hold of my cushions and give them a good slapping about, because there’s nothing more unattractive than a sloppy cushion.

“I can’t stand clutter. It makes me feel chaotic. Having structure around you makes you feel a lot more stable and calm.”

Her pal, Nicole, called her ‘anal’, saying her cleaning habits are getting worse over time.

She said: “She’s just really anal and fussy. She doesn’t want stuff on the floor which is why she doesn’t like my handbag on the sofa.

“I think it is getting slightly worse as she’s getting older.”

As well as cleaning everyday, Charlie also vacuums her home everyday – but also cleans friends houses when she goes over.

She said: “I think I like to make order out of chaotic situations.”

While this cunning mum shares easy trick to check if her husband is REALLY doing the cleaning… and it doesn’t end well for him.
