Holly Willoughby’s five parenting tips from baking with her kids to making precious memories with them

HOLLY Willoughby is a familiar face on our screens every morning, with the working mum juggling a busy family life with her career.

The 39-year-old appears bright-eyed and bushy tailed on This Morning at 10am, but she’s spent the morning getting her three kids up and ready for school.

Holly, who's married to Daniel Baldwin, lives in a five-bedroomed house in a leafy part of south-west London with Chester, six, Harry, 11, and Belle, nine, as well as the family cat, Bluebell.

While the TV presenter may share her OOTD on Instagram every morning, she also shares glimpses of her idyllic family life.

Here we share Holly’s top parenting tips, from baking with her kids to making treasured memories with them.

Precious items

Family life can be chaotic sometimes, but Holly ensures she takes time to appreciate sentimental objects, including toys and drawings.

Her latest post on Instagram shows a drawing of an ice-cream from Chester, which said ‘I lvoe you’.

Holly captioned it: “It’s the small things we lvoe the most…!”

It’s not the first time she’s shared Chester’s handiwork, as she also uploaded a letter from the lad after he lost his tooth.

A stressed Holly wrote: “Slight panic when Chester lost his first tooth today and couldn’t find it… I’m sure the tooth fairy will still come…”

The letter read: “Dear Tooth Fairy, today I lost my tooth in the grass, please can you still come.”

And sharing a snap of herself sewing up a stuffed rabbit, Holly wrote: “Time for some more Saturday morning rabbit surgery… lost count of the times I’ve sewn these arms back on… Chester’s one true love.”

Treasured memories

Kids grow up so fast, but Holly makes sure to document key moments such as going back to school and Mother’s Day.

She shared a snap of her kids’ shoes neatly lined up by the door, as she said: “Back to school…who else’s front door looks like this…

“Big day for Chester tomorrow, 1st day of school…

“Good-luck to anyone else starting their school journey…can’t believe he’s at this stage already.”

Holly added she was so ‘emotional’ as she waved Chester goodbye at the school gates, as she shared a sweep snap of the pair hand in hand.

She said: “And he’s off… full of a whole host of emotions watching him walk through the classroom door… my baby is growing up…

“Thank you @thismorning for moving heaven and earth so I could drop him off… that’s a day we will both never forget.”

The mum also marked the ‘new norm’ this year after her children finally went back to class after the coronavirus lockdown, saying in June: “The new norm… back to school…”

And Holly was also treated to an extra special Mother’s Day this year, after her kids made a big fuss over her.

She shared a snap of the four of them tucked up in bed, saying: “My three little bears made me breakfast in bed today… 1st time totally by themselves…

“Burnt toast and an apple served on a bread board… heaven… Happy Mother’s Day to you all… it’s different but the loves the same…!

But she also makes sure to mark world events with her kids, and use them as inspiration for her brood.

On International Women’s Day this year, Holly penned a moving post urging Belle to be the best she can be.

Holly wrote: “Make those dreams little Belle and know things are changing… An equal world is a more enabled world… It’s all in your grasp…

“I am inspired by the girl I watch grow everyday and am honoured to guide you and support you as you become the amazing woman I know you will be…”

Baking

There’s nothing better than baking a tray of cookies with your kids, and Holly whips up a range of delicious treats with her trio.

The mum went back to basics for Belle’s birthday, making an ice-cream cake with her daughter.

Holly shared a snap of the pair baking, saying: “Today’s project… making an ice cream cake for Belle’s birthday on Tuesday… Never done it before, will report back once we reveal it!”

She later said: “Reporting back… Ice cream cake was a success! Belle is super happy with her birthday creation… and we are super happy to have such a ray of sunshine in our life…

“Happy birthday beautiful Belle… keep being you… just as you are… we LOVE you!”

Harry also enjoyed a massive cake for his bash, with Holly sharing a snap of her boy blowing out his candles, writing: “Happy 11th Birthday gorgeous Harry… we love you so so much.”

But the Willoughby household doesn’t just bake for birthdays, as Holly shared a snap over summer showing the four of them getting their hands dirty.

She wrote: “Yummy!!! Thank you @garnieruk for making the kids day and sending these over … right now all distractions welcomed and this was a really lovely surprise.”

Quality time

But she also makes sure to spend quality time with each of her kids one-on-one, as she championed their individual achievements.

The mum shared an adorable snap of her and Chester in matching pyjamas, as she said: “Me and Chester wearing our @marksandspencer ‘All In This Together’ charity T-shirt… all profits going to the NHS Charities Together, supporting the amazing NHS staff and volunteers who are working so tirelessly.”

And she spent an afternoon hanging out with Belle, as the pair enjoyed decadent hot chocolates.

Holly said: “Girl time with my Belle…”

Plus she made sure to mark Harry’s 50p challenge, sharing a video of him doing tricks with some coins.

She said: “Thinking of things to keep the little ones and not so little ones entertained… Harry’s set you a challenge #harrys50pchallenge …

“What do you say @franklampard @alanshearer @harrykane @alexscott2 @johnterry.26 @bradderswalsh ???

“Can’t wait to see them all… use the hash tag so I can keep track!”

Outside play

As well as snuggling up with them indoors, Holly makes sure to give them a wealth of experiences out and about.

Whether it’s abroad or just in their back garden, Holly ensures they get the most out of everywhere they visit.

Over summer she shared a snap of her kids creating an ‘anthouse’, saying: “London’s sand castle…”

And she revealed her kids tried to wind her up while at the beach, saying: “Mummy, look, shark!” and he added the hashtag ‘he thinks he’s funny’.

While she captured a tender moment between her kids as they held hands on a beach, saying: “Well that was lovely…” which she hashtagged ‘brother and sister’.

Meanwhile this mum-of-10 spends $1k on huge shopping haul which feeds her family for a month including 180 eggs & 16 loaves of bread.

Plus porn star parents who film sex scenes around the school run insist they love their job despite being disowned by family.

And a mum shares easy way she’s saved hundreds for Christmas WITHOUT cutting back on anything.
