I didn’t want to fork out £300 on bin storage so built my own for hardly anything… people always think it was a pro job | The Sun

A DIY pro has revealed how she made her own bin storage after being quoted £300 for the job – and people can’t believe it wasn’t a professional job.

Jen shared that she used leftover wooden palettes for the base, and then decorated it using bargain paint from Wilko.

Known online as @jenshomejournal, the savvy homeowner regularly shares DIY hacks and gardening hacks with her 198,800 followers.

In a new TikTok video, she explained how went about turning three palettes into her expensive-looking storage cupboard.

She said: “Firstly I pulled the back off one of the palettes, then cut the other two to remove the sides and back as well.

“I wanted to keep the front structure as much as possible, then continued on to sanding everything down.

“Using wood screws and corner braces, I then attached the front to the side of my shed.

“This allowed me to attach the next bit of wood to the side of the shed which would act as the support structure for the top.

“The top was the two palettes I had cut down earlier which meant they were already secured through the middle.

“After securing the top into the back, it was time to measure up and cut off the excess wood.
