I was desperate to move in with my boyfriend but NEED my own space – now our five kids live in our own suites

ONE woman was so fond of having her own space from her boyfriend that her home consists of two suites – one where he lives with his three kids and another where she lives with her two children.

38-year-old mum-of-two Shelly Hunt from Penticton, BC, Canada couldn't wait to move in with her partner Peter Verge, and his three children, but she had some conditions for the living arrangements.

Taking to her TikTok account, Shelly said that her living situation is "amazing" and would love to hear from others who live like her.

Posting under the domain @shellhuntfulshe said: "My partner and I have five kids between us, so we own a home that has two suites. We live separately together, blended, unblended."

Holding up a photo of her and her partner with their five kids, the mum added: "This is our adorable family."

Showing TikTok viewers one suite she says "this is where my partner lives with his three children" before showing her own adding "and this suite is where I live with mine."

Although she has received some backlash, Shelly believes there is nothing odd about her living situation.

"I would love to find other families who live like this. I think it's amazing" said Shelly.

Adding: "I'd also love to hear if you have any opinions."

The post has reached a whopping 5.5 million views on TikTok and people have been quick to comment.

One person commented: "This is such a great idea for blended families, especially for older kids! That can be so awkward having to all of a sudden be 'siblings'."

Another added: "Let's normalise whatever makes people happy and is best for the kids."

"Design a life that works for you, not how society tells you it should" commented a third.
