It was designed by royal couturier Manuel Pertegaz. The dress featured a four and a half metre-long train, long sleeves, a high-standing collar and embroidery woven into the silk using gold thread.

She accessorised with a diamond tiara, gifted to her from her mother-in-law Queen Sofia.

Queen Sofia wore the tiara herself on her own wedding day to King Juan Carlos in 1962.

The Spanish royals got married on a rainy day back in May 2004.

The religious ceremony took place in Madrid, and the ceremony welcomed 1200 guests.

Despite the rain, Queen Letizia looked beautiful in her £6million wedding gown.

One of the reasons the dress was so expensive was because the embroidery using gold thread.

Kate Middleton’s dress for her wedding to Prince William in 2011, on the other hand, cost £250,000.

It was made in collaboration with Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

The beautiful dress had a nine-feet long train with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons on the back.

After Kate Middleton’s, the most expensive dresses are Princess Eugenie’s and Princess Diana.

Princess Eugenie wore a £200,000 dress in 2018 when she married Jack Brooksbank.

Princess Diana’s dress was valued at £151,000 in 2019.

Meghan Markle’s wedding dress is estimated to have cost £110,000.

Queen Elizabeth’s wedding dress in 1947 was only £30,000.

The marriage between Letizia and Felipe came as a surprise to many in Spain.

The royal couple met at a dinner party and were introduced by a mutual friend.

However, they had been secretly dating for a year before they announced their engagement.

Letizia was a well-known news anchor for Spanish national TV.

The then-Prince proposed to Letizia with a white gold ring featuring 16 baguette-cut diamonds.

In 2014, Felipe and Letizia became Spain’s King and Queen when King Juan Carlos abdicated the crown.
