Mum reveals clever way to cut daughter’s fringe perfectly using everyday item – but some people daren’t risk it

IT can be tough keeping up with kids' haircuts.

So it's not surprising that more and more mums are turning hairdresser at home – and finding ever more inventive ways to ensure they get the perfect snip.

One mum has taken to TikTok to share her method of ensuring a straight fringe on her little girl – and all it involves is a strip of sellotape.

The Hands-On Family's mum posted a video showing her daughter with a strip of sellotape along the bottom part of her fringe.

She then used a pair of sharp scissors to cut along the sellotape in a straight line.

And, when she removed the tape, the fringe was perfectly neat and straight.

The hack was welcomed by her followers, many of whom took to the comments section to post their appreciation.

"COOL! I wish this was around 15 years ago when I would trim my daughter’s hair," one person wrote, while another added: "Where was this when I was 5 and decided I needed to cut my bangs?"

"Love the hack but I’d cut it shorter. It’s making my eyes itch!" someone else commented.

And another person suggested that the hack would work on adults as well, as they wrote: "Kids? I’m going to try it on myself!"

Others were less complimentary about the hack, with several claiming the fringe was slightly uneven when the cut was finished.

Another person suggested the trick only works when the tape is placed higher, and the hair beneath the tape line is cut.
