Stunned kitchen fitter finds secret note and gift hidden under flooring 20 years ago

A KITCHEN fitter was left stunned after finding a secret note and gift hidden under a client's flooring.

Craig Harrigan, from Perth, was tearing out old units at the property when he discovered the minituare bottle of Glenkinchie whisky and message stashed below.

Recording the incident on TikTok, he said: "So we’re stripping out a kitchen and we found a message under the floor."

The message read: "Jack and May lived here, three kids and a dog. Kitchen done up during April/May 2001.

"All the best, have a drink on us."

Craig later joked he thought the message wasn't that old – until his fellow worker admitted he wasn't even born then.

His clip has now gone viral, racking up more than 110,000 views in four days.

And social media users are loving the cute message.

One gushed: "Aww that was so sweet."

Another added: "That’s actually so cute. Like that restores my faith in the world. Probably don’t drink it if you’re using power tools though."

Meanwhile, a third wrote: "How lovely is that. I might do that when mine’s eventually gets done."

It later emerged the note was written by the client's dad – who she had bought the house from.

She has now kept the whisky and scrap of lino as a memento.

It's not the first time a secret has been uncovered in a new home.

This ordinary home hides fully stocked PUB behind secret door – and it’s on the market.

A woman was stunned to find another room in her house behind a wardrobe – three years after moving in.

And this lad found a ‘secret escape route’ inside a kitchen cupboard.
