During the 27-second video, Sandra reveals how the pair started by building a long rectangle out of wooden planks to sit on top of their patio.

They then made another to sit directly above it, connected with vertical timber planks.

This acted as the base of their kitchen, which they then filled out with cement panels and waterproof padding, before covering the entire thing in wooden batons.

Sharing the next steps, she continued: “Lowered a section for the BBQ to sit within the frame.

“Added cement boards for heat protection.

“Wrapped the frame in a waterproof membrane.”

In part two, she continued: “Next we attached the steel doors.

“We added vents on the sides – for ventilation because we have a gas BBQ.

“Added tiles to the worktop and underneath where the BBQ will sit.

“Drilled a hole in the tile underneath the BBQ to feed the gas pipes through.

“Covered the entire unit in batons.

“For the corners, we mitered them to make them nice and sharp.”

Fans loved the step-by-step guide, with the video gaining more than 5,500 likes and 337,400 views.

In the comments, TikTokkers shared their reactions, with one writing: “Amazing. I can’t even hang a picture up on the wall.”

“Looks awesome,” commented another.

Although some did have concerns their DIY kitchen wouldn’t last, with another adding: “Looks great, but putting a bbq under an overhang is a fire hazard…

Sandra replied: “Thanks, it’s been fine so far. And too late now.”
