Woman shares the utter carnage caused by frantic Christmas shoppers as people brand scenes 'shameful'

A WOMAN has shared shocking scenes of carnage as shoppers rushed to snap up last minute Christmas gifts, urging people to spare a thought for the cashiers.

Stores are usually mayhem around this time of year, but one woman, was appalled by the trail of destruction left behind in her town in Tennessee, USA.

She shared a series of snaps on Facebook from a number of shops, showing aisles littered with toys, with games and clothes all over the floor.

Her post has racked up more than 36,000 likes, as she urged people to spare a thought for retail staff who have to work over Christmas.

She said: “These are just a few photos from 2 different stores…..

“The lines were all full of people buying holiday gifts and some complaining about the lines.

“If this is your Holiday Spirit, you need to re-evaluate some things.

“I overheard a lady yelling at a cashier about Christmas lights.

“I made conversation with my cashier at Michaels because I could tell it had been a rough day and one of her statements was ‘at least I haven’t cried today’.

“Y’all it’s glitter and garland, why are you yelling at retail employees.

“Take an extra moment to be a decent human to retail and hospitality folks.

“They have to work insane hours during the holidays so you can buy the latest and greatest for your family while they are away from theirs.”

People have branded the scenes ‘disgusting’, adding the behaviour wasn’t in-keeping with the spirit of Christmas.

One person commented: “This is awful! What’s wrong with people?”

Another said: “I just don’t understand why people have to be so awful and inconsiderate. This is shocking.”

A third wrote: “Oh my god, that is wild! Those people should be ashamed.”
Someone else thought: “It looks like a tornado hit the store.”

Another wrote: “I almost can’t believe these are real. That is madness.”

Somebody else asked: “What is wrong with people.”

While this person added: “I don't go into those stores around this time of the year because of this.

"It's such a shame people think it's ok to do this.”

Meanwhile shoppers fumed at ‘looted’ shelves as supermarkets are stripped of Christmas food.

Plus there was chaos at Tesco and Asda as last minute Christmas shoppers scrambled to get food.
