He’s hardly been to school. He tried various special schools but hated them.

He now works in a warehouse, getting rid of packaging. He couldn’t do anything much more demanding than that because he’d be confused.

He’s 26 and likes his routine, but at home he just stays in his bedroom.

DEIDRE SAYS: A dating site might not be best for him but improving his social skills certainly will help.

That way he can learn how to approach people and talk to them. They say there is somebody for everyone.

Encourage him to join PHAB (phab.org.uk) which is a social group for disabled and non-disabled adults and children, to help them break down social barriers and feel part of something.
