When is Black Friday 2021?

Black Friday 2021 takes place on November 26.

It follows Thanksgiving in America, which occurs on the fourth Thursday of November, and sees stores across the pond slash prices the following day so people can bag incredible deals.

Offers usually continue over the weekend, now commonly referred to as Cyber Weekend and then onto Cyber Monday.

But sometimes retailers start sales a few days early, so make sure you keep an eye on Amazon's website throughout the week, if not sooner.

Amazon launched its Black Friday deals at the end of October last year.

Is Amazon taking part in Black Friday in 2021?

We'd say it's safe to assume Amazon will be taking part in Black Friday – it has done for several years and we'd be very surprised if that changed this year.

What to expect from Amazon's Black Friday sale

Based on previous years, we'd expect Amazon's Black Friday deals to start rolling in ahead of the big day – last year they introduced their early bird deals four weeks ahead of the main event.

We also expect there to be hefty discounts on Amazon's own-brand devices such as Kindles, Echo devices and Fire Sticks, as well as on sister brands like Eufy and Ring.

Previous years has seen the online giant put a large amount of its stock on sale during the annual event, with smart devices, TVs, home appliances, beauty products, headphones, Nintendo Switches and smartwatches all being slashed last year. Fingers crossed for a similar story in 2021.

When is Cyber Monday and will Amazon be taking part?

Cyber Monday falls on November 29 in 2021, and it's usually the final day for shoppers to make savings.

In the past, Cyber Monday deals were only accessible online and were tech-focused (hence the name), compared to Black Friday deals which were available both online and in-store and focused on big-ticket items.

However, in recent years (in the UK, at least) we've seen a shift in the way the deals come through. We now often see the same offers for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with most stores ending their sales on the Monday.

So will Amazon be taking part? Yes, we believe the retailer will be taking part in Cyber Monday again this year.

Will Amazon Black Friday deals be better than Prime Day?

Last year we saw very similar discounts over Prime Day and Black Friday. This was possibly due to Prime Day taking place in October, very close to Black Friday.

This year Prime Day took place in July, so it's possible the discounts will be bigger during Black Friday with differing seasons, new product launches and stock levels all playing a part. It's hard to say for certain though.

Here are some of these Amazon Prime Day deals we saw in July. They might be an indication of things to come in November:

  • New Apple iPhone 12 mini, £639, save £110 – buy here
  • Echo Dot 4th Gen, £24.99, save £24.99 – buy here
  • Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner, £183.99, save £196 – buy here
  • Ninja Air Fryer, £129.99, save £49 – buy here
  • Apple Airpod Pro, £187.99 (lowest price ever) – buy here

While we're not entirely sure what Amazon will do this year, but a couple of years ago it had an exclusive 30-minute early access to all lightning deals in the sale for Prime customers.

Prime membership costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month. New users can get a free 30-day trial.

If you've got Amazon Prime, your delivery fee will be free.
