BBQ cook shares recipe for juicy bacon cheeseburger with ‘divine secret sauce’

The sun has been shining this week and with lockdown restrictions lifting we’re all heading into our gardens.

And, what’s better than a good barbecue on a summer’s day? Not much, we’ll tell you that for free…

But, have you ever wanted to pep up your BBQ food and turn it into something outrageously delicious?

No half cooked sausages and plain burgers, but a dish the neighbours will be asking about when they smell it over the fence?

Well, one pro-BBQ chef who sells his handmade burgers to foodies has shared his “mouthwatering” bacon cheeseburger recipe on Reddit.

Give it a try!

Posting a snap of the juicy burger online he said: “It's equal parts chuck, brisket and sirloin 80/20 meat to fat ratio and single grind.

“My butcher sells this as ‘Clint's Custom Mix’.

“I use parchment paper and and plates and press in down until it's as thick as a smash burger before it hits the griddle.

“Just salt and pepper on the exterior of the burger.”

Ooph, it’s already sounding yummy!

He also said that he pre-cooked his bacon before adding to the burger.

The cook wrote: “375F on a sheet pan in the oven, pour off grease and flip after 15 minutes and cook for another eight minutes.

“If the bacon wasn't for a burger I only cook for five minutes after the flip but I like crispy bacon on my burgers.”

And, what about the accompaniments and the bun?

He added: “It’s an ace bakery brioche bun butter, pan toasted.”

That means you butter the bun and toast it in a frying pan until golden, Sainsbury’s sells brioche buns for £1 per pack of two.

The cook said: “There is diced white onion on there but red would work great as well.’

He also added pickles, but you can choose whether you want to as well as adding your favourite cheese on top of the burger just before the meat is fully cooked.

That way it will get all melty and delicious.

And, the BBQ cook had a “secret sauce” recipe which he claimed took his burgers to the next level.

He explained: It's my ‘Burger Snot’ – three parts homemade mayo, two parts ketchup, one part yellow mustard, one part dijon mustard and one part pickle juice.”

Sounds lush! And, Reddit users clearly agreed as a whopping 42,400 people liked the post.

One person said: ‘Looked at this pic and said 'dude' out loud.”
