Coronavirus vs Flu symptoms: What’s the difference between coronavirus and flu?

Flu season is around the corner, and coronavirus hasn’t been defeated yet. The two illnesses have symptoms in common and could easily be confused. This is a worry and could cause people to go out thinking they have the flu but really have the virus. The Prime Minister has a plan to prevent this from happening, but do YOU know the difference between coronavirus and flu?

Boris Johnson has announced the biggest ever flu vaccination programme in the UK.

An addition three billion pounds of funding for the NHS has been pleged, in order to prepare for a second wave.

This would allow the NHS to continue using hospital space from private hospitals, and also will support the Nightingale hospitals.

Antigen tests have been increased 100 fold with 200 mobile units being doled out rapidly when needed.

By the end of October, this rate will be increased to 500,000 antigen tests a day. This equates to 3.5 million tests a week.

This idea is to prepare for the worst ahead of the flu season, which kills around 10,000 deaths in England every year.

The symptoms of the flu and coronavirus are very similar, so less cases of the flu will make it easier to battle COVID-19.
