Costa Coffee temporarily shut all of its stores on March 23 due to coronavirus, even though it was allowed to stay open for takeaway orders.

But the coffee chain, which was founded in 1971, has been gradually reopening stores since April 24.

Just this week it reopened 131 more cafes taking its total reopened branches to 658.

These branches are available for walk-in or drive-thru takeaway orders, while some branches are offering a home delivery service via Uber Eats too.

The menu includes baps, sandwiches and sweet treats – we've listed the items available above – although Costa Coffee is yet to confirm what it's temporarily axed.

Costa Coffee is also only offering its "core" drinks range at present, so you may find some items are unavailable when you come to order.

If your local Costa isn't reopen, you might be able to pick up a drink from one of Costa Coffee's Costa Express machines instead.

Around 8,400-plus of Costa Coffee's 8,500-plus Costa Express machines are currently available for takeaway hot drinks. They're typically located inside supermarkets or in petrol garages.

Jill McDonald, chief executive of Costa Coffee, said: “We’re delighted to be able to share the news that by the end of June 1,100-plus of our stores will re-open for take-away or delivery.

"We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback that we have received from our customers and are pleased to once again be able to serve them our signature, handcrafted coffee."
