Nickelodeon alum Drake Bell missing and ‘endangered’: police

Drake Bell separates from wife Janet Von Schmeling, begins treatment

Drake Bell reportedly battled suicidal thoughts leading up to his disappearance Wednesday.

An Orlando, Fla., police officer called 911 to report that a “celebrity who had a falling out with his wife” had been texting his family in California saying he was going to “get drunk and hang himself,” according to audio obtained by TMZ Friday.

Police said they got involved after learning of the “possible attempted suicide” via the relatives and so they pinged the individual’s phone.

He was located at a hotel in Orlando, Fla.

Bell’s name was not mentioned at any point in the audio, however TMZ has identified the “Drake & Josh” alum as the person the officer is speaking about.

It is unclear when this call was made.

Reps for Bell declined Page Six’s request for comment.

A search for the “Amanda Bynes Show” alum commenced on Thursday after the Daytona Beach police announced on Facebook that he was missing and “endangered.”

The day prior to his disappearance, Bell was seen hanging out with his young son at SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla.

A bystander, who identified himself as a fan, told TMZ previously that the actor seemed “nice,” “soft-spoken” and “fine.”

However, police claimed that Bell went missing on Wednesday evening at around 9 p.m. and was last spotted near a local high school in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Hours after the news broke, Daytona Beach police told Page Six that they had located Bell and he was “safe.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office also told us the Nickelodeon alum was found “unharmed” at around 11:30 a.m. local time Thursday.

Deputies said they “took action” to ensure the “Drake & Josh” alum received a “mental health evaluation.”

Bell has been dealing with some personal issues as Page Six exclusively reported in January that he and his estranged wife, Janet Von Schmeling, are going through a separation. The marital strife may be what is referenced in the 911 call that was released.

However, Bell spoke out on his disappearance Thursday night and appeared to brush off any concerns, tweeting, “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this? ?.” He made no mention of issues with his mental health.
