Enjoy a great day out at Thorpe Park with our top money-saving tips

SUPERDAYS is back – and this time we’re bringing you two free tickets to Thorpe Park.

With restrictions expected to ease further in the coming weeks, it looks like it could finally be time to enjoy our family days out to theme parks to the full.

And what could be better than saving even more dosh?

Here are my favourite ways to make the most of your big day.

TIME SAVER: Time is money, so don’t waste it.

If you’re heading to a theme park, now they’re open, let your kids pick the rides they want to enjoy on the way.

Also, plot which route you’ll take around the park — this means you’ll get the most enjoyment for your money.

Many theme parks, including Thorpe Park Resort, have a handy free app you can download before you go, which also has a map and ride times.

IT PAYS TO BE A SAVER: There will be plenty of extra deals for Sun Savers when it comes to your Thorpe Park Superday — just check out your Sun Savers wallet once booking opens.

There’s everything from discounted doughnuts to cheaper unlimited drinks and cute sloth toys.

PREP AND SAVE: Prepping snacks can be a money saver for the drive there and packing for all weathers can save mad dashes to find a shop selling brollies on the day.

For packed lunches, if you head to Wilko now you can find handy food- storage boxes from around £1.50.

Dunelm also has a handy pack of three monochrome snack lunchboxes for £2.80, down from £4.

CHEAP DRINKS: Bring your own water bottles into the park to fill up for free at fountains dotted around the resort.

This will keep you hydrated between visits to vendors and keeps costs down as you won’t need to buy so many drinks.

TRAVEL TOGETHER: Parking for many attractions can be pre-booked online or paid on the day.

If going with family or friends, it may be worth car-pooling — if there’s space! — to split parking and petrol costs.
