Family will never shop at Iceland again ‘after being delivered mouldy pizza’

A horrified shopper has slammed a popular supermarket chain and vowed to never shop there again after claiming she received a frozen pizza covered in mould.

Kim Bann said her niece was shocked when she found the pizza, home delivered from Iceland, with black mould all around it.

The family had been looking forward to tucking into their Iceland own brand Deep Pan Double Pepperoni pizza when they made the discovery, reports My London .

Kim said: "This is meant to be a double pepperoni pizza but it’s all black mould all the way round it Absolutely disgusting."

The family, from south London,  contacted Iceland and were told they would receive a refund for the pizza – which costs £1.

But Kim said given the shock it gave the family, Iceland should have offered the family something else to convince them to shop there again.

She said:  "I would have thought that they would least give her a voucher to coax her back to shopping there.

"It’s actually put her off shopping there now as well as me."

Mirror Online has contacted Iceland for comment.

In August a south London mum was "disgusted" after she received two mouldy pizzas in a home delivery from Iceland.

Iceland said it was an "isolated issue" but the mother, who did not wish to be named, vowed to never shop there again.

An Iceland spokesperson told MyLondon at the time: "At Iceland, we pride ourselves on both the quality of our food and the quality of our service. On this occasion, our customer has clearly not received this usual high standard of experience.

"We have contacted the customer to ensure that they feel valued and supported, and their feedback has been exceptionally useful in helping us to ensure that this is an isolated issue.

"We have had a great conversation with this customer and, as ever, will use their feedback to best effect to continue to deliver ever improving experiences for all our customers.”
