Spooky season is officially here, and we’re on the lookout for the best events as we get into the Halloween spirit.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Halloween is going to look very different this year. So how about swapping trick or treating for an immersive cinema event instead?

Independent cinema Pop Up Screens is back for another season of exciting and immersive events, this time at Peckham's popular Bussey Building.

The Forbidden Forest is kicking off with a collection of fright night screenings for Halloween.

Before watching one of their favourite spooky films, visitors must brave their way through the indoor forbidden forest, before discovering an eerie woodland cinema.

This is the perfect setting to watch Halloween horror favourites like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice or The Blair Witch Project.

Or, if you’re brave enough, you could watch more recent rippers such as The Invisible Man, Hereditary and Us.

If scary films aren’t your thing, you could go on a trip down memory lane and watch The Labyrinth, The Lost Boys or Ghost Busters.

Half term screenings of Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Onward, Moana, Minions and Toy Story 4 will also be part of the schedule, coupled with a family friendly magical adventure through the mysterious forest.

Adult tickets cost £19.50 (including all fees), with concessions for family tickets and half term screenings.

There will also be a number of VIP tickets for £25, which are premium sets with a drink.

The screenings will be made as safe as possible, operating on a reduced capacity, with socially distanced seating, a one-way system, regular cleaning and hand sanitiser available.

If you enjoy the Forbidden Forest, you can also pencil in other events into your diary.

The Peckham Comedy Festival is running from November 12 – 14, followed by the return of Cinema in the Snow from November 20 to December 20.
