The former partner of Princess Beatrice’s fiancé has slammed female members’ club ‘The Wing’ in London as ‘the most sexist design I’ve ever seen.’

American architect Dara Huang, 37, who lives in London, is the former partner of Princess Beatrice’s, 31, fiancé Edo Mapelli Mozzi, 37, and the mother of his toddler son Wolfie.

She took to Instagram earlier this week to slam the London based club, posting snaps of the design in the ‘women-only space’ as ‘something for ’50s housewives’.

In a scathing comment, Dara wrote: ‘The Wing is in London now and sorry but this brand is about female empowerment and yet it’s the most sexist design I’ve ever seen. It’s like we’re ’50s housewives.’

Dara Huang, 37, who lives in London, slammed The Wing online, calling the pink and flowery design ‘sexist’

Sharing another snap of the pink and flowery interior of the Fitzrovia-based club, Dara sarcastically wrote: ‘Naturally women want to do business in a flower tiled cafe, right?’

She added: ‘Sorry, I’m a very positive person and I would never criticise someone else’s business but this is just a design critic which I am good at.

‘I find pink to be very masculine and feminine colour and it should be used with sophistication.’

‘I think women and men both want to be in creative professional environments.’

The architect went on to reveal that one of her favourite colours was ‘dusty rose.’

The Wing was founded in 2016 and initially promoted itself as a women-only space, but in January this year it clarified that stance following a $12million discrimination lawsuit brought by 53-year-old James Pietrangelo in 2018.

It bills itself as a women’s club and working space modeled after the clubs of the late 19th and 20th centuries, that were established by women who were barred from joining male-only clubhouses and educational institutions.

It currently has 10 locations in New York, Chicago, DC, Boston, Los Angeles and London. Two more locations are planned in Seattle and Toronto.

The American architect took to Instagram to slam the design of the club house in Fitzrovia, saying it was ‘sexist’ and suggesting it was unsophisticated

The firm boasts 11,000 members worldwide with another 35,000 on the waiting list.

Users pay up to $250-a-month for access to all clubhouses, along with facilities including lactation rooms, phone booths named after feminist icons, and work spaces heated to the female-friendly temperature of 72F – warmer than most offices.

Members are also granted access to exclusive events such as intimate talks with Hillary Clinton, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Clubhouses also promote activism, with classes such as ‘Prenup 101’, community discussions like ‘F*** Harvey Weinstein’, and chartered buses to feminist rallies.

The Wing has also been accused of discriminating against low-income women who could most benefit from the networking opportunities it provides.

Kaitlyn Borysiewicz, who wrote a critique of The Wing in April 2018, accused its founders of promoting ‘a certain type of women’ who need helping the least.

The Wing denied the claims, saying it offers scholarships to the underprivileged and has a diversity team to focus on including women of color in its community.
