Simon and Lauren have known each other since 2004, when Lauren was married to Simon's close pal, real estate mogul Andrew Silverman, 47.

Lauren and Andrew share a son, Adam, together who is now 16 years old.

In 2013, Andrew filed for divorce from his wife, and shortly after reports began circulating that Lauren was pregnant with Simon's child.

In February 2014, Lauren gave birth to her and Simon's first child, Eric, seven, and the couple have been inseparable ever since.

Simon and Lauren tend to keep their family life out of the spotlight, but Simon has opened up on a few occasions about his happiness at finally becoming a dad.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in May 2021, the X Factor star gushed over Eric, saying: "That is it, I'm besotted.

"Now I just cannot imagine my life without him. He's the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him."

Simon has also regularly praised Lauren, most notably during the coronavirus lockdowns and after his severe back injury.

He previously opened up to told OK!, explaining how he and Lauren were "closer than ever", before sweetly adding that the "romance is still alive" between them.

Speaking in November, Simon said: "Covid-19 was the real test. Like everyone, we were in lockdown for a long time and that’s when you realise whether or not you actually enjoy each other’s company or not. And we really, really did. So to answer your question… yes, the romance is still alive!"

Now, reports have claimed that Simon has finally popped the question to his long-term girlfriend, having decided he needed to “put a ring on it” because Lauren is the “woman of his dreams”.
