Is Jac Naylor leaving Holby City and does she die?

Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) in Holby City has had quite the journey since starting at the hospital almost sixteen years ago. Her time at Holby has seen her involved in plenty of relationship drama, she’s been shot, she’s had to fight for her life on a number of different occasions – and that’s not even the half of it!

With an intense episode coming up tonight that sees a dramatic cliff-hanger where a gun is shot and lives are left hanging in the balance, we’re here to give you a quick run down on the episode, and what happens to Jac Naylor.

Is Jac leaving?

It was confirmed that yes, after fifteen years of playing Jac Naylor, Rosie Marcel has decided to say goodbye to the character. Metro.co.uk spoke to Rosie recently, where she spoke about what she’ll miss most about working at Holby City:

‘I’m definitely going to miss her one liners. else can you get away with saying the awful things she says? You just can’t! I will always look forward to reading an episode and seeing who she’ll pick on or who she’ll upset! Those things I’ll miss, and I’ve always been extremely lucky that I’ve been given wonderful storylines, I’ll miss that too.’

What happens in Holby City tonight?

After Jac learnt of Kian’s (Ramin Karimloo) drug addiction, she decided she would try and help get Kian clean, but when he returns tonight and his drug dealer Sarah Jane (Rose Escoda) is also brought into the hospital, will she be the cause of Jac and Kian’s relationship ending?

As the situation escalates, a face from Sarah Jane’s past shows up and leaves everyone fearing for their lives when he holds a gun in front of them.

The episode ends with us not knowing who has been shot, and Rosie teased us with what’s to come in the aftermath:

‘I’m not going to say who, but they are really, really badly injured, there is another episode to follow where it gets even more heightened, it gets a bit more drastic, the gun gets pointed at everybody so there’s another potential shooting coming up, but we’re still locked in that room, it’s a bad situation for everybody!’

Does Jac die?

With Jac’s exit looming, will history repeat itself and will Jac find herself shot again? She was left in a life-threatening situation before when she was shot by Henrik Hanssen’s (Guy Henry) son, but will things go a step further this time as the team fail to save Jac from her injuries if she’s shot?

There’s so much going on, and while we can’t tell you whether Jac dies or not, we will tell you this, you won’t want to miss tonight’s episode of Holby City at 7:50pm on BBC One.
