Jingle All The Way cast now from tragic murder-suicide to heartbreaking cancer ordeal

The Schwarzenegger holiday classic Jingle All the Way remains at the top of our to-watch list every Christmas, even 26 years after its release.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and comedian Sinbad – real name David Adkins – two fathers go head-to-head as they desperately try to buy an action figure for their sons before Christmas. The results are are hilarious as you may imagine.

While Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was recently involved in a 'bad' car accident, has gone on to become a household name, starring in the Terminator sequels, as well as taking on the real-life role of governor of California, other stars of the film have come to rather more grisly fates.

From car crashes to murder-suicides, here is where the cast of Jingle All The Way are now.

Sinbad – Myron Larabee

After co-starring with Arnie as postal worker Myron Larabee in the Christmas classic, comedian Sinbad continued to his career doing stand-up. He has also had cameos in Family Guy and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as a number of smaller TV roles.

In November last year it was revealed that the 66 year-old was recovering from a stroke. Fortunately, he now appears to be on the mend.

Rita Wilson – Liz Langston

After Jingle All The Way Rita Wilson, who played the role of Liz Langston, has gone on to enjoy a successful career, starring in films including The Story of Us, Runaway Bride and Raise Your Voice. For her roles both on-screen and on Broadway, the 66 year-old has been recognised with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The star is a breast-cancer survivor, having being diagnosed in 2017 and consequently undergoing a double mastectomy. Rita also endured another health scare in March of 2020 along with her husband, Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks, when the couple were one of the first celebrities to reveal they had caught Covid-19. Luckily both made full recoveries.

Jake Lloyd – Jamie Langston

After his role of Jamie Langston, son of Howard and Liz, child actor Jake Lloyd landed a career-defining role playing young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Sadly, the amazing opportunity came with a lot of negative attention from Jake’s classmates, eventually causing the star to quit acting altogether in 2001. Jake, now 33, told Best Life: “My entire school life was really a living hell, and I had to do up to 60 interviews a day."

"Other children were really mean to me…They would make the sound of the lightsaber every time they saw me. It was totally mad.”

In 2015, Jake was arrested for reckless driving, driving without a license and resisting arrest and spent a year behind bars. After his release, the ex-actor was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Phil Hartman – Ted Maltin

Aside from his role as the Langstons’ annoying next-door neighbour, Phil Hartman was well known for his roles in the 80s and 90s and was a beloved SNL comic and Simpsons voice-actor.

Two years after the cult film’s release an unhappy marriage with his wife Brynn Omdahl, who he married in 1987, turned deadly. After a particularly heated argument, in 1998 Brynn shot her husband 3 times in his sleep before turning the gun on herself. Prior to the tragedy, their relationship had been plagued by Brynn’s frequent drug abuse and repeated domestic violence against Phil.

The 49 year-old sadly died on the scene. In 2014 he was posthumously added to the Hollywood walk of fame.

Robert Conrad – Officer Hummel

Known for his role as Officer Hummel, after Jingle All The Way Robert Conrad appeared in a number of small roles before starring in the 2002 film Dead Above Ground.

This would be the final film of his career, as Robert was later involved in a car accident that left him partially paralysed. The other driver, Kevin Burnett, died a number of years later, reportedly from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Robert was convicted of drunk driving and sentenced to six months of house confinement, alcohol counselling and five years on probation. In 2020, Robert died of heart failure at age 84.

Jim Belushi – Mall Santa

Jim Belushi, who played the character Mall Santa, enjoyed great success both before and after Jingle All The Way. One of America’s top paid actors, his ABC sitcom According To Jim reportedly earned him $500,000 an episode at its peak.

After starring in a number of other acting roles, Jim switched directions with his career and opened his own weed farm in Oregon. The 68 year old documented the process in the film Growing Belushi.
