Nursery staff lost my daughter but no one seemed to care

DEAR DEIDRE: I AM so concerned about the nursery my children attend that I want to expose their shortcomings.

I discovered my two-year-old daughter had been found wandering outside on her own.

My son has twice suffered after being hit over the head and bitten by another child. He is three.

I am a 38-year-old dad. I feel very strongly about this. I have spoken to the staff about my concerns, but after saying they would look into it, I feel as though I have been ignored.

I contacted Ofsted about the nursery, but the case was dropped.

I don’t want other children to suffer in the same way as my children have. Who will take my concerns seriously?

DEIDRE SAYS: No parent wants to hear that their child has been neglected or that another child is harming them. The nursery has a duty of care to protect children from injury.

It’s important your concerns are properly considered. So do look into informing your local council or your MP.
