Stranger Things Has Been Voted Netflix’s Best Show Ever

Netflix subscribers have spoken, and they have decided that Stranger Things is the best original series the streaming service has offered up so far.

While recruiting the help of a big franchise can make all the difference when it comes to the popularity of a streaming service, original content is also key. Unlike Disney which had almost 100 years of content to load up Disney+, Netflix had to come up with completely new ideas. It has managed to do that in the best possible way, and the service’s original series might well be the main reason it has become such a huge success.

Netflix is responsible for some of the biggest shows of the past decade, but which one has been the very best? Lad Bible asked its followers to try and settle that argument. It selected 16 Netflix shows, split them into four groups of four, and then had the most popular of each group compete in a final round of voting.

The key here is to remember that not everything on Netflix was created by Netflix. Shows that started elsewhere but have been picked up by Netflix, like Arrested Development, also weren’t eligible for this competition. Round one featured Stranger Things, Sex Education, Schitt’s Creek, and GLOW, from which Stranger Things emerged victorious.

After Life won round two, beating Orange is the New Black, Better Call Saul, and The Umbrella Academy. Ozark booked its place in the final by beating out Mindhunter, Bojack Horseman, and The End of the F**king World. Finally, Narcos picked up the last available slot in a round that featured Money Heist, Big Mouth, and F is for Family. Honestly, we think a better job could have been done when it comes to splitting these pools.

Nevertheless, that left Stranger Things, After Life, Ozark, and Narcos to do battle in the final. It was a close-run thing, but Stranger Things won out with 33.9% of the vote. After Life came in second with 27.8%, Ozark in third, and Narcos in fourth. As with any definitive decision posted online, some people were not happy about the result. Personally, we think it’s hard to argue that the right show didn’t win this one.
