Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Aldi share latest advice on supermarket delivery slots

Aldi promote their Click and Collect service

Supermarkets have all seen a high demand in their online services this year with people staying at home more than ever. With home delivery slots being hard to find, grocers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Aldi have all shared their latest advice on how customers can get their essential groceries.

Tesco

In order to see all of the available delivery slots, customers can sign into their account to see what are available.

To help shoppers, the supermarket giant has increased the number of slots available but with more people having to stay at home, customers may not be able to find the exact time slot they need.

The grocer is prioritising its vulnerable customers with delivery slots at the moment.

Tesco also has a Click+Collect service where customers can pick up their groceries at specific stores, contact free.

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

These slots can be made up to three weeks in advance which ensures that shoppers can get hold of groceries.

If customers order online, there is a £4.50 delivery charge for a time slot of one hour.

To cut the delivery cost, Tesco also offers a four-hour window which sees lower delivery charges.

Customers can also keep checking their website to see when the supermarket giant is bringing back their Delivery Saver pass.

This service enables customers access to various different delivery slots for just £7.99 a month.

The Delivery Saver pass was paused due to the high demand for online slots.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s also has a similar scheme, where customers can choose different plans to help save money with delivery costs.

These plans are also currently frozen.

A statement on the website reads: “We are not currently accepting new delivery pass applications, although we will continue to review this to make sure that we are best supporting our vulnerable customers.”

Delivery slots start at £1 if customers spend over £40 and if shoppers spend over £100, delivery is free.

Click & Collect is also available for shoppers who can pick up their essentials the following day after an order is made.

The service is free for those spending over £40 and £4 for those spending under.

It’s only available at selected stores and customers can check which stores are participating in the service online.

Morrisons

Supermarket giant Morrisons is currently facing high demand for their online delivery slots.

Customers can see up to seven days worth of available slots in advance while delivery pass holders and people on the government vulnerable list can see up to 21 days in advance.

A statement on the website reads: “We’re experiencing high demand for online groceries delivery slots please continue to check the website for further availability.

“Our contact centre do not have access to additional slots. Check out our Food Boxes website for next day delivery on orders placed before 3pm.”

For shoppers who can’t find a suitable delivery slot, the supermarket giant has recently extended its Click & Collect service.

447 stores across the UK are now offering the service, with up to 37,000 new slots available every day.

This service is free for customers who can pick up their essentials from a store, contact free.

The grocer is also offering a 10 percent discount to key workers, including the NHS, Teachers and Blue Light card holders.

Aldi

In a recent update to customers, Aldi CEO, Giles Hurley, reassured customers that they have good availability of stock with regular deliveries.

However for those unavailable to get to store, there is now Click & Collect available at over 200 locations.

The letter to customers read: “Visit groceries.aldi.co.uk to see if this new service is available in your area.

“You may also be able to get Aldi groceries delivered to your home via Deliveroo. Check the Deliveroo app or visit aldi.co.uk/deliveroo to see if the service is available locally to you.”
