There's a strange reason why Conor McGregor hardly ever wears the same suit twice… and it's not just because he's crazy rich

UFC-LEGEND Conor McGregor is known for his brutal smack-downs both inside and outside of the Octagon.

But the mouthy Irishman is also known for something else: his sharp sense of style.

Conor McGregor usually rocks up his explosive press conferences sporting an outfit which is either ridiculously expensive or plain ridiculous.

Throughout his rise to MMA stardom, McGregor's outfits have become increasingly flashy, reflecting the big personality behind the explosive fighter.

Ahead of the fight of the century against Floyd Mayweather, the UFC champ has been snapped in a whole wardrobe's worth of bespoke, fitted suits.

McGregor's personal tailor, David Heil, told TMZ that the scrappy Irishman typically spends between $4,000 (£3,000) and $10,000 (£7,500) on each suit – and will order 10 suits before each media tour.

This means that he could end up spending as much as £75,000 on each batch of suits, and to make matters more expensive, big Mac rarely wears the same suit twice.

You might think that it's just because he's stupidly rich, but there's another reason why he gets through so many outfits.

The reigning UFC Lightweight Champion likes to wear his suits extremely tight, which means they all need to be tailored perfectly to fit him.

But the problem is that McGregor's size is changing all the time, so he needs a constant supply of new suits if he wants them to fit just right.

McGregor has been a champion across multiple weight divisions, and competed as a featherweight, lightweight and welterweight at different times in his career.

And even now, in the run-up to a fight, he'll cut or gain weight to meet the restrictions or to increase his chances of winning.

David Heil, his personal tailor, told TMZ: "He likes to wear his suits high and tight and really tailored, and his size changes all the time depending on his fights.

"So we’re always measuring him to make sure it fits exactly how he wants it".

Splashing seven grand on a suit you'll only wear once seems completely ridiculous to most of us.

But it's not like McGregor has any shortage of cash.

He's set to make around £75m from his clash with "Money" next month, which will take place on August 26.
