Wetherspoons cuts cost of food and drink in pubs – with booze starting from 99p

Brits are in for a treat this January as Wetherspoons is slashing the cost of food and drink.

The popular pub chain is cutting prices in venues in England and Wales between January 3-17 next year.

Meanwhile, the pubs up in Scotland will see the prices drop between January 4-17.

The great news is that drinks will start from just 99p.

Brits can get Carlsberg, Bud Light, Guinness, Stowford Press Dark Berry Cider at slashed prices.

Pints of Ruddles beer will be in sale for less than a pound across 560 pubs.

It's worth remembering discounts will vary as pubs will price their drinks differently.

But the average price of a pint of Ruddles is £1.79 so customers can buy it roughly for a 45% discount.

Customers will be able to get reduced prices on a range of spirits too, including gin, rum, vodka and whisky.

Even coffee and soft drinks will be reduced to 99p across 810 pubs.

Tim Martin, founder and chairman of Wetherspoons, said: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.

"The range of drinks and food on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes.

"This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks."

  • Adnams Ghost Ship – £1.49
  • Brewdog Punk AF – £1.49
  • Heineken 0.0 – £1.49
  • Low alcohol Koppaberg – £1.49
  • Low alcohol Erdinger – £1.49
  • Bud Light – £1.69
  • Stowford Press Dark Berry Cider – £1.69
  • Stowford Press Apple Cider – £1.69
  • Carlsberg – £1.99
  • Guinness – £2.89

Customers will be able to nab discounts on food, including breakfast muffins, MOMA porridge and breakfast wraps across 640 pubs.

The porridge will cost £1.49, breakfast muffins with a hot drink is £1.99 and breakfast wraps with a hot drink costs £2.49.

A 3oz burger with chips and a soft drink will cost £4.49.
